India's New Companies Act to catalyse CSR in large companies

India mandates CSR spending through a statutory provision under the Companies Act 2013 and expects an annual spending of $3000 Million Dollars by corporate India. It will be interesting to see if this combination of legal prescription and open market will achieve its desired outcome: to increase CSR among the business community in India.
